Conveniently located at Horton Place, Kang’s Kitchen whips up an amazing Chicken Kanpungi , which we could not get enough of and is totally worth your buck. They provide excellent service and our food arriving within 10 minutes was a testament to that. However, if we still haven’t convinced you to visit Kang’s Kitchen, maybe their BYOB option will.

Robata Grill and Lounge
Highly affordable considering the fact that it is located at Movenpick Hotel, Robata Grill and Lounge is home to 7 types of Asian cuisine, out of which Korean is one. Their Bulgogi is to-die-for and clocks in at LKR 700 which is absolutely worth it when you take into account the delectable gochojang which accompanied the dish. Also, try their cocktails!

This chic eatery is new to the Korean food scene in Colombo and is indeed a hidden gem. Albeit located in Malabe, it is definitely worth a visit because it is a cheaper option out of the lot. The ordering process here involves a beeper making it super easy but they tend to run out of items soon which in turn limits the menu, so call ahead!

This restaurant has great service with attentive and accommodating staff. The Chicken Bibimbap was super yummy while their Kimchi hit all the right spots! It was also quite apparent that there was a difference in portion size in what they offer to Sri Lankans and Koreans, but this is to adapt to our insatiable Lankan appetites so that’s a plus!

KBQ Korean Barbecue
Their crowd favourite, the Fire Chicken, which is also a personal favourite, costs LKR 1100 and is totally worth the money! While their menu is vast and not entirely authentic Korean, their sauces and dips are incredible! The Fire Chicken in particular is spicy and is most definitely suitable for the Lankan palate. Pulse approved!

Dae Jung Geum
Dae Jung Geum gets brownie points for being super tidy and clean. In terms of food, while it is affordable, your Korean culinary experience is restricted to their limited menu. However, the ambience makes it worth the visit during the day due to its spacious area and ample seating.

While Wangediya is an all-encompassing Asian restaurant offering food from 8 different nationalities, it was worth a mention due to the Korean fare they have in store. We tried their Bibimbap and not only was it a treat for our taste buds, but it was also a treat for the eyes. We cannot wait to go back for more!
