What we had
An all you can eat pizza treat
We all love pizza, and when we heard about Urban Kitchen having an All You Can Eat Pizza deal, we absolutely had to induldge and try out the food for ourselves.
Basically, it’s an all you can eat offer for Rs. 950. In all honesty, this isn’t all that worth it because, on average, a person can usually eat about 4 slices of pizza and 4 slices for 900+ bucks doesn’t seem too practical. But hey, that’s just me!
They also had a set of “rules” for the whole deal;
- Take as much as you like, but do not waste.
- One plate per person.
- 4 slices at a time.
- Sharing will be counted as an extra person.
- Eat in only.
- Prices may change without prior notice.
Food and Drinks
Drinks: Coca Cola with free refills
This is something we didn’t mind at all, although the more Cola we had, the more stuffed we seemed to get!
Pizzas: Margherita, Vegetarian, Seafood, Barbecue Chicken
So the toppings that were available were pretty basic, but given that it’s Sri Lanka and that it was an all you can eat thing, we can’t say that we expected all that much.

All the pizzas were thin crust pizzas and lookswise, it wasn’t all too appealing either. It looked pretty decent but we have had much better pizza.
The Margherita Pizza was covered with cheese with a handful of tomato slices just under the layer of thick cheese. There were a few (what I’m assuming was) spinach leaves sprinkled over it, too. The cheese didn’t have much flavour to it and tasted very bland, probably because it wasn’t hot. Additionally, other than the taste of the tomatoes, there really wasn’t much to the pizza. All in all, not so great.

Next up; Vegetarian Pizza. I usually prefer my pizza with meat and a lot of cheese. But the slice of Vegetarian pizza that I was left with was bleh. They were quite generous with the black olives in this pizza and as a fan of the topping, I really enjoyed the taste of it. Yet again, the cheese on this pizza was very bland. It wasn’t the usual thick layer of cheese you’d love to see on a slice of pizza; it was just a thin film of translucent cheese. It could’ve been so much better!

The Seafood pizza was sad! Under normal circumstances, I wouldn’t opt for a seafood pizza, but hey! There’s always a first time! Let me start with the negatives. There was just over 5 tiny cubes of seafood scattered over my pizza slice and I wasn’t too thrilled about that. Moreover, the seafood tasted more chicken than seafood! Personally, I didn’t mind because I’m a huge fan of chicken, but after all, it was a seafood pizza! However, there were plus points as well. There was quite a lot of cheese on this pizza, and unlike the other slices I had, this tasted very nice. The sauce that was used was also quite delectable. It was a little tangy and a little spicy; just how I like it! So overall, I think this would’ve been my favourite out of the lot.

Last but not least, the barbecue chicken pizza! I expected so much more from this topping! The chicken tasted odd and it was incredibly bland! There was absolutely no barbecue flavour to it. There was a generous serving of cheese and onions on this pizza, but that was pretty much it. It tasted like a typical Rs. 120 pizza that you’d find in little short-eat kades.
Service & Ambience
Over the years, Urban Kitchen has become less appealing. The ambience of the place isn’t great but they are under going new changes to the place, so hopefully the outcome will be a lot better!
The service was also awful. As we got there, we headed over to the food counter to find out a bit more about the offer. The guy simply nodded his head and went onto another enquirer. Like really, bruh? They seemed lost at first and were so slow! Towards the end of our endeavour, however, the service got a bit better.
Tip: Try the seafood pizza!
