This welcoming outlet is nestled within the Body Bar compound down Jawatte Avenue. Pure Kitchen is definitely a new favourite where you can indulge in your cravings, with 0% guilt involved. There’s ample parking available, which is definitely a bonus.
Pure Kitchen is a cute open space with colourful wall art and a really relaxing ambience. Their menu is a definite win for they whip up some amazing snacks, meals and smoothies, all fresh and made from scratch.
Power Berry – LKR 650
A wonderful hit of fresh raspberries, blueberries, bananas, and milk in every sip!
They serve a very generous mason jar mug full of this delicious smoothie which is a great thirst-quencher after a workout at the gym or even as a quick breakfast on the go. What’s more, you can also add a scoop or two of Spirulina or Protein powder and make it your favourite post workout shake.
Peanut Blast – LKR 600
This thick and creamy smoothie is a winner and tastes amazing with just the right balance of peanut butter, cocoa powder, banana, milk, and kithul honey.
The Pure Kitchen substitutes sugar with natural sweeteners such as kithul honey and raw bee’s honey. Similar to the Power Berry shake, the Peanut Blast too is great after a workout at the gym or even as a quick breakfast on the go. You can also ask for scoops of Spirulina or Protein powder just the way you like it.
Granola Bowl with Greek Yoghurt and Apple Pie – LKR 650
A refreshing snack to have when you’re on the go! The Greek yoghurt, along with the homemade granola and apple pie topping with cinnamon, was topped off with just the right amount of raw honey. This granola bowl was fresh and cooling with just the right amount of sweetness.
Bliss Ball – LKR 100
The best snack! The generous amount of health nuts in this dish, with a bit of peanut butter, makes it one of the healthiest things you can snack on, perfect for a quick bite.
Quinoa Egg Fried Rice – LKR 750
We all have those days where we crave fried rice. Most of us succumb to the temptation and feel guilty after. Well, fear not, because Pure Kitchen’s Quinoa Fried Rice is not only a much healthier version of your favourite fried rice but it also has just the right hit of spice us Sri Lankans crave for. Quinoa is a great substitute for rice as it is high in protein and fiber. You can also opt for the variety of add-ons they offer such as chicken, salmon and more. This is a crowd favourite and for those of you who aren’t big fans of quinoa, trust me, this twist on quinoa is one big surprise.
Chicken Burger Bowl – LKR 1,250
Feel like indulging in a nice cheesy burger and calling it a cheat day? The best thing about Pure Kitchen is that they always have a creative way of allowing you to satisfy your food cravings in a healthier way.
This dish is a deconstructed burger with a meaty chicken burger patty and an assortment of fresh and crunchy veggies. The combination of veggies (especially the roasted pumpkin) made this burger experience a thousand times more flavoursome and healthier than your average burger.
The thing I liked the most about Pure Kitchen is that they change up their menu every now and then so customers will always have something new to try out every time they drop by. They are also very helpful in suggesting which dish will best satisfy your food cravings.
