One of the richest and beefiest cuts around, you don’t have to visit a fine diner to get this beauty! Try this simple pan sear method at home to produce a 5 star dish for that special someone 😉
2 Rib Eye Steaks
freshly ground Black Pepper
Garlic Herb Butter:
4 tbsp Butter
2 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Dried Herbs
salt and pepper
Knob of butter
Clove of garlic
Small sprig of fresh thyme, rosemary or spring onion
First blend all of the ingredients for the Garlic Herb Butter. Put it in the refrigerator until ready to be served out.
Next add some salt, pepper and olive oil to one side of your steak. Rub in well. Turn and repeat. Let your steak come to room temperature before cooking.
Now heat a dry pan over medium-high flame. When it starts to smoke place steaks gently down. After 2 minutes brush a knob of butter on one side of steak. Then rub a garlic clove around it and finally pat it with a sprig of fresh thyme, rosemary or a spring onion. Sear for 4-5 minutes. Turn and repeat process with the other side searing for another 5 minutes.
Let the steak rest for 7 minutes. Finally place on plate, serve with butter on top and enjoy! Delicious with Roast Potato Wedges or veggies too.
