This year, Valentine’s Day is all about that #LoveCakeLove!
A truly Sri Lankan recipe and sweet, Love Cake is an absolute delight! Check out our very own Love Cake recipe below.
Ingredients:
- Semolina 125g
- Margarine 125g
- Rind of 2 limes
- Pumpkin 75g
- Minced cashews 125g
- Rose essence 1 tsp
- Sugar 200g
- Minced pumpkin preserve 75g
- Eggs yolks 5
- Vanilla essence 1 ½ tsp
- Almond essence 1 tsp
Method:
- Warm semolina in a dry pan until golden brown.
- Switch off the flame and add margarine and lime rinds while it is still hot.
- Add minced pumpkin, cashew, and rose essence.
- Keep overnight.
- Beat the egg yolks with sugar. Add vanilla essence and almond essence.
- Beat the egg whites and fold into the mixture,
- Bake at 150° for 40 – 45 minutes
