It’s almost Avurudu! These delicious Aggala balls are a must for your table! Get cooking!

Method 1

Ingredients:

  • Rice 500 g
  • Coconut/Kitul treacle 1 cup
  • Pepper 1/4 tsp
  • Sugar 1/2 cup
  • Water 1/4 cup

Method:

  1. Wash and dry the rice. Then roast the rice until golden brown.
  2. Grind the roasted rice.
  3. Add coconut/kitul treacle into a pan and heat it.
  4. Add sugar and water. Then add some pepper.
  5. When it gets thicker, add the pounded rice flour.
  6. Let it cool for 5-10 minutes.
  7. Shape into balls and keep for Avurudu!

Method 2

Ingredients:

  • Rice 500 g
  • Coconut 1 cup
  • Salt 1/4 tsp
  • Sugar 1 cup
  • Coconut/Kitul treacle 1/2 cup

Method:

  1. Wash and dry the rice. Then roast the rice until golden brown.
  2. Grind the roasted rice.
  3. Put the grated coconut into a bowl. Add salt, sugar and roasted pounded rice flour.
  4. Mix well.
  5. Shape into balls and serve!.
