It’s awesome for dry skin so anyone who is constantly in AC may find this soothing and relaxing for your skin. Not just dry skin; we can make different mixtures to suit your skin type. This is an inexpensive and very nourishing way to bring life back to your skin and make it healthy.

There are many ways of making this depending on the results you desire. I will list down some easy recipes for your face mask, and of course with ingredients that you can easily find in Sri Lanka.

Yoghurt contains high amounts of Lactic Acid, which is proven to be successful in refining pores, exfoliating the skin and stimulating collagen production. It gently cleans the skin and is suitable for even the most sensitive skin types. Plus, its thick and creamy texture lends a paste-like consistency that’s ideal for any face mask.

Honey is an all-natural humectant. It retains water to help keep the skin soft and moisturized. It also functions as an antimicrobial agent and can even be used to treat minor burns and cuts. An anti-irritant, it’s also gentle enough for sensitive skin. On top of it all, it makes a great binder for all the other ingredients in the mask.

It doesn’t matter what type of skin you have—thereare DIY recipes out there for you that incorporates both of these foods.

These mixtures are super easy to make and it’s a great way to unwind after a long day. But before that getting to its major benefits, well I can think of 5 main benefits.

  1. Moisturize

Revive dull skin on your face with only that tasty yoghurt in your fridge. A simple yoghurt face mask applied two or three times a week will leave you with soft, supple skin—and save you a load of cash on beauty products.

The lactic acidin the yoghurt helps smooth and exfoliate skin. To indulge in a yoghurt facial, follow these steps: First, wash your face. When you’re finished rinsing, smooth some creamy, natural yoghurt over your face and neck. The yoghurt will lock in the moisture. Let the mixture refresh your skin for about 10 minutes, and then rinse it off.

  1. Sunburn Relief

Now here’s a benefit perfect for Sri Lanka, because it’s always sunny here, well not so much lately, but usually! Nourish your sunburn naturally with yoghurt. The zinc in yoghurt helps cool the harsh bite of sunburns.

Add a few drops of soothing chamomile essential oil to about a handful of yoghurt. Rub the calming concoction over your sunburned skin and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes before rinsing it off.

  1. Tighten Skin Pores withYoghurt

Simply smear a teaspoon of creamy plain organic yoghurt on your face, leaving it there for about 15 minutes to get absorbed. Rinse it off with cool water.

  1. Get Rid of Dry Dead Skin Cells:

Yoghurt has a natural moisturizing property that makesit a great hydrating scrub to remove dry dead skin cells. This moisturizing home remedy is useful for the ones having dry and sensitive skin. You can make a natural scrub at homeby mixing 2 tablespoons of yoghurt with 1 tablespoon of oats. Try this scrub to exfoliate your skin by massaging it gently in circular motions with your fingers. If you are suffering from blackheads and whiteheads then blend some rice powder and plain organic yoghurt into a thick paste. Massage this scrub onto your facial skin in small circular motions with the help of your fingers, and then rinse it off with cool water.
