4 things I wish I knew about beauty and Style when I was 16

Here’s what I’d tell my younger self..

  1. Your acne will go away eventually and it gets better

I use to try everything and also in the meanwhile break them, pop them, squeeze them. Basically do everything to try and ease it for that moment. I wish I hadn’t done that cause the scars are much harder to get rid of. While your teen acne will eventually clear out with your age and your hormone changes, the scars on the other hand are here to stay for a while. So all you young girls reading – try not to break them and always keep your face clean! I always wash my face now and I swear by this. If you have acne breakouts you probably have oily skin. So you must do everything to try and keep your pores open and clean. If you want to know more you can watch my video on how I got rid of my acne

  1. Make sure you use a good cleanser & moisturizer

When your young you don’t really care about all this LONG-TERM stuff.. lol.. I was always looking for a quick fix, but I realise now how important it is to use good skin care products that suits your skin type. I use to use anything that was new and caught my attention. Anything with cute packaging I’d just pick up and use. Never cared about if it was right for me or stuck to something that worked. But then that’s how you are when you’re a teenager. But I’d go back and tell myself not to fall for the fun packaging or any new exciting advertising and like try a 100 different products and instead to stick to one thing that works.

  1. Don’t dress for boys

Your style and effort should be for yourself and not for those teenage boys. Trust me I’ve dressed to impress boys but as you go into your twenties you realise that it’s the most ridiculous thing you used to do. I mean umm… boys don’t even notice what your wearing – all they care about is “is she gonna date me? Cause she’s got nice B***S or a tight A**” lol.. So don’t waste your time on doing this for boys. Dress up for yourself. And I know how good it feels to dress up, but I do it now just cause it makes me feel good and I love style! And make your style your own – anything that you’re comfortable in and not for anyone else. And well, boys! Don’t worry about it – when the right one comes along you’ll know, cause he’ll pay attention to the right things about you; the things that make you beautiful and unique!

  1. Cutting your hair on a whim! No no!

Ok so I’m all for drastic change! But I wish when I was younger I was less impulsive. I use to like suddenly feel “ooh wanna chop off all my hair” and of course go do it that very minute. Well.. This could be a mistake, cause you don’t think “oh how am I gonna style it after?”, “will I miss it”, “will I hate it” these things don’t go through your head. Well, all I’m saying is take a day or two and think about it- that’s what I do now. I still have impulses but I don’t act on it immediately. And in the past I can think of a few times where I have and after like a day I’m like “Oh no! What did I do??”

Hey but your young – it’s okay once in a way. Hahahah ok so this article now seems moot! Lol. go Live a little! But this is just what I may say to my 16 year old self now if asked now…

Hope this was helpful. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask me. I’m here and happy to help.
