Avara Curry

This Avara Curry is sure to tickle your taste buds when you enjoy it with some good ol’ red rice! Get cooking! 


  • Avara 250 g
  • Onion (small) 1/2
  • Garlic 3 cloves
  • Maldive fish 1 tsp
  • Green chilli 1
  • Salt 1/4 tsp
  • Chilli powder 1/2 tsp
  • Curry powder 1/2 tsp
  • Thick coconut milk 1/2 cup
  • Curry leaves & rampa
  • Oil 2 tsp


  1. Clean and cut avara.
  2. Heat oil and add onion, curry leaves & rampa, garlic, maldive fish, green chillies, turmeric powder and chilli flakes.
  3. Then add avara and mix well.
  4. Mix salt, chilli powder and curry powder. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes..
  5. Add coconut milk and cover with lid. Cook on a low flame.
