We are delighted to present to you Sri Lanka’s first ever creator space; Ideahell.
Ideahell is a state-of-the-art studio located at 46/6, Alwis Place, Colombo 03. The warehouse, open 24 hours a day, spans across an area of over 20,000 square feet, and presents to you all the latest equipment you would need to produce, edit and upload your videos.
Ideahell provides its members with everything they could possibly need – cameras, lights and a variety of the latest equipment in store. Creators can also create hundreds of unique environments to shoot their footage using a modular set system, where they can change the lighting, backdrop, furniture and other props. In addition to equipment, you will also have the ability to obtain assistance from technical experts in the production and uploading of videos.
All these facilities are offered free of charge to registered Ideahell members. And the best part? Membership is completely FREE!
Ideahell operates under a tiered system based on the number of subscribers on your channel. This means that the more subscribers you have, the more facilities you will be allowed to access. Even facilities such as drones and other expensive equipment will be made available to you if your subscription base exceeds a threshold level.
Creators are able to receive revenue for their creations in two ways; by monetizing their videos on YouTube and from sponsorships. Whilst most budding talents start out using the former method, Ideahell also comes fully equipped with an experienced digital marketing team that can find direct sponsorships for those with established brands.
It has only been a little over a month since the launch of Ideahell on the 24th of March, yet a few major local names such as SL Diaries, Ambalama and Backstage have already registered with Ideahell.
In contrast to established artists, creating a library of quality videos for a public platform can be an intimidating task for newbies. For the benefit of those who are new to the field, Ideahell also conducts introductory seminars covering areas of copyright law, videography, and other important aspects of YouTubing. These sessions are held every other Friday for registered members, and are conducted by both in-house personnel and guest speakers.
